Smokeshot is usually kept for the second chamber in a six-shooter. Rather than being a bullet, it's a pellet of very smokey chemicals, that when ignited explodes into a dense spreading cloud of black smoke. This envelopes the shooter to a radius of about three meters, and can persist where there is no wind for up to a minute.
It's most often used in open shootouts and places where there is little cover, as it makes it very difficult to see exactly where a shooter is. One of the quirks of smokeshot is that it's a good deal easier to see out of the cloud than into it, owing to the direction and spread of the smoke.
While people shooting out of a cloud have penalties to see, those shooting into it can't tell exactly where their target might be, and as such have a much harder time hitting anything vital.

Longsmoke or longshot bullets are a development of smokeshot rounds, and are mostly used in rifles and shotguns. The blast from these bullets extends up to ten meters in front of a shooter, and leaves the same dense clinging cloud of smoke in that area. This can be used to quickly lay down an impenetrable field of smoke over a battleground.
