Mixed from mild acids and a sorcerous concoction of ghost-breath, secretive curiosity and numerous rare ground herbs, this tincture must be spread while wearing gloves made of glass to have any effect.
Sprinkled on the cover of a book, it makes the cover transparent first, then the pages beneath it, one by one. They can be read normally without opening the book as the fluid passes through them, but caution must be used if they are not to be revealed too quickly to read.
Further, if too much is sprinkled on a particular tome, it will be reduced to quartz dust when it hits the back cover. This effect can be avoided by opening the book in question before the tincture seeps all the way through. It works effectively on sealed letters, scrolls and other closed documents, and has proven useful in espionage and when dealing with accursed tomes.
